ABOUT US P.J. Riley & Co. was founded by Patrick J. Riley during World War I. The company was incorporated, in Massachusetts, on December 24, 1968. Today, the company is owned and managed by Charles P. Riley, II - President and Thomas E. Riley, Jr.- Executive Vice President, grandsons of the late founder. By the start of World War II, P.J. Riley & Company, Inc. (“PJR”) was established as a leading contractor in the area. It performed all the plumbing, gas fitting, and gas distribution systems for the U.S. Government’s 800 unit housing projects in Portsmouth, NH. In addition, PJR worked on various defense projects such as the Squantum Air Base and the Boston Naval Shipyard. PJR has a strong specialization in the power and gas industry, and regularly serves clients such as Exelon/Sithe New England, Boston Edison, Distrigas and Boston Gas/Key Span. Following World War II, PJR broadened its scope of services to include mechanical projects of all sizes and complexities. PJR performed work on several area projects such as: Mystic, and Fore River Stations for Raytheon Co.; Boston City Hospital Power Plant; Needham, Winchester, and Hingham Public Schools; Deer Island and Charlestown Sewage Pump Stations; Billerica Water Treatment Plant, and the South Bay Incinerator. In recent years, PJR has grown from a comprehensive mechanical contractor
into a General Contractor and Construction Management firm. In 1993, PJR
successfully applied for a designation as a General Contractor with the
Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and has maintained
that status. |
